The 2023 ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup is scheduled to be the 13th edition of the men’s Cricket World Cup, contested by the national teams of the members of the International Cricket Council (ICC). The tournament will be held in India from 9 February to 26 March 2023, with the final taking place at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
The tournament will feature 10 teams, reduced from 14 in the previous edition. The top seven teams in the ICC ODI Championship on 30 September 2021, along with hosts India, qualified directly for the tournament. The remaining two spots will be decided by a qualifying tournament, which will take place in Zimbabwe in June–July 2022.
The format of the tournament will be a single round-robin group, where each team plays nine matches, followed by a knockout stage of two semi-finals and a final. The top four teams from the group stage will advance to the semi-finals.
The fixtures for the tournament were announced by the ICC on 17 November 2021. The opening match will be played between hosts England and New Zealand at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The other venues for the group stage matches are Eden Gardens in Kolkata, M. A. Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, Green Park Stadium in Kanpur, Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur, Punjab Cricket Association IS Bindra Stadium in Mohali and Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow.
